SUPPORT REALITY HERALD

Independent work without memberships or subscription pressure

Reality Herald aims to remain freely accessible. The publication will seek support through voluntary contributions, grants, and carefully selected sponsorships rather than paywalls, membership tiers, or email-subscription campaigns.

What support would fund

Financial support would help Reality Herald cover the ordinary costs of producing a serious independent publication and podcast.

Research

Books, databases, archival materials, document access, and other research expenses.

Podcast production

Recording, editing, transcription, hosting, and related production costs.

Contributors

Honoraria or compensation for writers when resources permit.

Scholarship

Editorial infrastructure for scholarly work, including manuscript preparation and peer-review administration.

Technology

Hosting, domain costs, software, accessibility, security, and technical development.

Reporting

Travel, interviews, records, and other expenses connected with original reporting.

Grants

Reality Herald will seek grants that support journalism, religion and shared political life, legal and historical scholarship, humanities work, podcasts, and projects that introduce intellectually curious readers to the world of serious academic scholarship and help emerging writers participate in that world.

Grant proposals will focus on specific projects and deliverables rather than asking funders merely to support a website. Possible projects include the Journal Guide, a Christian legal scholarship initiative, church-history projects, interviews with scholars, and podcast series built around law, history, theology, and intellectual inquiry.

Listener and reader support

Readers and podcast listeners may eventually have the option to make one-time or recurring voluntary contributions. Support will not purchase editorial influence, privileged access, or special status.

Reality Herald does not plan to build its funding model around memberships, paywalled articles, or recurring email solicitations.

Sponsorships

Reality Herald may accept carefully selected sponsorships for podcasts or other clearly identified content areas. Sponsorships will remain visibly separate from editorial judgment and will never guarantee favorable treatment.

EDITORIAL PRINCIPLE

Support does not purchase influence.

Financial contributors, grantmakers, and sponsors will not determine editorial conclusions, article acceptance, peer-review outcomes, or the treatment of subjects covered by Reality Herald.
