Commitment to correction
Reality Herald will correct material factual errors when discovered. Corrections should address the error directly rather than silently rewriting the record when the change materially affects meaning.
Types of changes
Minor typographical, grammatical, formatting, or stylistic changes that do not alter substance may be corrected without a formal notice. Substantive factual corrections should receive a visible correction note identifying what changed.
Updates
An article may receive an update when new information becomes available after publication. Updates should not be presented as corrections unless the original article contained an error.
Requests for correction
Readers, sources, and subjects may request review of a possible error. Requests should identify the specific statement at issue and, when available, provide supporting documentation or sources.
Editorial judgment
A disagreement with an argument, interpretation, or conclusion does not by itself establish a factual error. Reality Herald may publish clarifications when wording proves materially ambiguous even when no factual correction is required.
